We are pleased to announce on July 28th we will be holding our first online timed auction. We will be auctioning lots such as, antiques, collectables & general household items.
What is a timed auction?
A timed auction is an eBay style auction where you have an appointed amount of time to bid.
Auction houses can set their desired length of time ranging from flash auctions lasting 1-2 days, or like ours run for 7 days.
You will have to register with the auction house or register with their auction platform providers to bid.
To bid in our auction, you will have to register with our preferred provider who is easylive auction, to view our current auctions click on the following link: Easyliveauction.com
There are of course security checks that they undertake i.e providing name, address and proof of ID before your registration can be accepted.
This is solely to prevent people who are not serious about purchasing items and spoiling the enjoyment of others.
A point to note when bidding in a timed online auction, unlike eBay you can not bid in the last few seconds hoping to outbid the current highest bidder. Auction houses use a professional auction house software platform that won’t allow this, if a bid is received on a lot within the last 5-10 minutes the software automatically adds anything from 2-10 minutes depending on the auction houses preference. This allows the software to email the current highest bidder giving them time to respond if necessary and prevent bid sniping.
